The Choice Is Yours

Do you really want to be happy? I feel like most people would say yes but I do know a few people that would rather wallow in misery and that’s ok. I was there for a while and I get it.

If you are in the “wallow in misery” camp, I want to encourage you not to beat yourself up about where you are. I believe that some of my worst times helped bring me to some of my best times. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28.

If you are in that place of genuinely wanting to be happy but are not sure how to get there, I want to encourage you too. Being truly happy is wonderful and it is also a choice. You can choose to be happy, no matter your circumstance.

If your circumstance is that you are single (like me), your thoughts about being single determine how you feel about it. If you think that being single sucks and that you need someone to make you happy, then you are not going to feel very good about being single. If you think that God has a plan for your singleness and you just have to trust him, that might feel a bit better or what I would call “feeling neutral”. If you think “I am so blessed to have this time of singleness and could meet the love of my life at any moment”, you might feel excited! I know I do when I think that thought! How do you want to feel about being single? It is a choice and the choice is all yours.

Blessings,
Angela
