V Day

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and since this is a “holiday” specifically for couples, it is easy to feel left out and forgotten. It is also easy to dwell on the fact that you are spending another Valentine’s Day alone and it hurts. I get it. I want to show you that you can view your singleness in another way, a Godly way.

In this blog post by Tim Challies (which you should read in its entirety), he encourages us to look at our singleness as a gift from God. And it’s not just any gift (because sometimes we don’t like a gift we have received) but it is a good gift from our Father, who knows us and loves us more than anyone can or will. That makes being single sound pretty awesome and I believe that it is, I just have to be reminded of it sometimes.

So this Valentine’s Day, instead of being depressed and dejected, let us be grateful for the gift of singleness and use it to glorify God, by showing His love to others. Bless, encourage and love on someone this February 14th, whether it be your grandma or the cashier at the grocery store or even yourself.

And just another “little” reminder….Jesus loves you and so do I.

Blessings,

Angela
